S. Briggs, Inc. opens office in North America

S. Briggs & Co. buys the brewing division of the Pfaudler Corporation, Henry Balfour based in Leven, Fife, and, along with the Pfaudler Schock Gusmer office in Rochester, New York. In 1983, this allows S. Briggs & Co. to set up a new base in America to cover the American market and acquire market leading brewhouse technology. S. Briggs, Inc. is born, which today is known as Briggs of Burton, Inc
