Briggs of Burton acquires Scottish copper still equipment manufacturer McMillan
Briggs of Burton, a business unit of the CIMC Enric Tank and Process B.V. within the division of CIMC Enric Holdings Ltd. Liquid Foods, has acquired 100% of the shares of the Scottish copper still equipment supplier McMillan (Coppersmiths & Fabricators) Ltd.
McMillan (Coppersmiths & Fabricators) Ltd and its predecessor Archibald McMillan & Co Ltd have been a significant force in the domestic and worldwide supply of copper distilling and stainless steel process equipment, since the company was originally founded in 1867.
Rob Buxton, Managing Director of Briggs of Burton stated:
“I am pleased that McMillan will join the Briggs of Burton group and I am keen to invest and grow the McMillan business despite these challenging times. McMillan’s Scottish Heritage and provenance is key to the distilled spirits industry and is widely recognised in the International market. McMillan strengthens Briggs distilling portfolio and supports their desire to win more turnkey projects in the distilled spirits industry.”
With this acquisition, Briggs of Burton will continue to build on its reputation to supply its distilling customers with market leading process equipment and engineering services together with McMillan’s copper distillation equipment.
The company will be operated under the supervision of Briggs management and by the existing management team, out of its original location in Prestonpans, Scotland under the name McMillan.
