Briggs Nominated for National Apprenticeship Awards-Newcomer of the Year 2018
Briggs of Burton recently attended the first Learning Unlimited National Apprenticeship Awards ceremony and were proudly nominated for Newcomer of the Year.
This was a special night for Learning Unlimited as they usually hold regional awards in Derby every year and by gaining national presence promoted them and the employers associated. The evening celebrated the commitment of everyone invested in the apprenticeship schemes.
Furthermore, the night applauded the young apprentices who are trained professionally by employers but also their determination and ability to progress so quickly within a professional environment; ultimately providing support to all business operations.
The Newcomer of the Year category is awarded to employers who have recently taken on an Apprentice or Apprentices for the first time in the past year and have involved them successfully in their business. Briggs are proud to announce that they have recently recruited eight apprentices who work in a variety of business areas compromising of the shop floor through to engineering.
Briggs have fully invested in the apprenticeship programme by not only giving the apprentices real responsibilities but rewarding them for their efforts through staged salary increases and further development opportunities allowing future growth. This has resulted in well rounded apprentices.
Four apprentices and two colleagues attended the night to enjoy the occasion and most importantly network with like minded professionals who are truly passionate about apprenticeship development across the region.
